US and UK Create Joint Crypto Task Force to Shape Future Regulations

The United States and United Kingdom have established the "Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future," marking their first collaborative effort specifically targeting cryptocurrency regulation. UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent finalized the agreement during President Donald Trump's recent state visit to Britain.

The task force faces a 180-day deadline to deliver policy recommendations for both governments. Its dual mandate focuses on aligning digital asset regulations between the two nations and streamlining cross-border capital formation opportunities. Leadership will comprise senior officials from both Treasury departments, alongside financial market and digital asset regulators.

"These recommendations are to be developed in close collaboration with industry partners ensuring we unlock opportunities for investors, businesses, and market participants on both sides of the Atlantic," the US Treasury Department stated. The initiative comes as both nations accelerate efforts to establish clear frameworks for the rapidly evolving digital asset sector.
